The Village of Bridgeport is one of 50 separate villages located within The Villages, Florida, the world's largest active adult community. The Villages is located in central Florida between Ocala and Leesburg, about one hour northwest of Orlando. Portions of The Villages are in Lake, Marion, and Sumter counties.
     The Villages has 18 Executive (nine hole) and eight Championship (18-27 hole) golf courses plus numerous recreation centers and community swimming pools. There are also more than 400 active organizations and clubs in The Villages.
     There are two town squares (Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing) comprising shopping, dining, and entertainment. In addition, there are four regional shopping centers. All of the facilities in The Villages are accessible by golf cart.

The Village of Bridgeport at Lake Miona currently comprises 100 premier (custom) homes, and will have 129 homes when completed.  We currently have approximately 200 residents, and although the first residents moved in just over a year ago, we have developed a very strong sense of community, and we are extremely proud of our village.
     We have formed numerous clubs, including the Bridgeport Social Club, a men's coffee group, a women's luncheon group, several golf groups (couple's, men's and women's), Red Hats, and the Bridgeport Yacht Club (which has acquired a pontoon boat to use on the lake).  We have also purchased several emergency defibrillator units to be used within the village and organized a group of first responders to work with the 911 emergency system.
